The City of Columbus is planning for a public open house of the voter-approved Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St. The public is invited.

The celebration will take place from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, July 8th, 2023. It will commence with a brief ribbon-cutting event at 9 a.m. outside the front entrance along 14th Street, with Mayor Jim Bulkley, City Engineer Rick Bogus and City Administrator Tara Vasicek scheduled to speak. At approximately 9:20 a.m., the public will then be able to tour the open spaces within the three-level building.

“It’s hard to believe that this awesome project is completed. Voter-approved, built on schedule and on budget. Boy, those are three terms that you do not hear mentioned together often,” Bulkley said.

“A lot of hard work went into getting us to this point. I am confident that the public will be proud of what we have presented, and I look forward to this facility becoming the cornerstone of our downtown for generations to come.”

In addition to the ribbon-cutting presentation and ability to tour open spaces in the building, there are fun activities planned for people of all ages that will be conducted by the Columbus Arts Council and Columbus Public Library.
