Celebrating Small Business Week

Business

How Are You Celebrating Small Business Week?

National Small Business Week has been celebrated and sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration for over 65 years. Here are a few easy ways to celebrate this week.

Take a picture inside some of your district businesses and post them to social media. Ask where you were when you took that picture and then follow up with information about that business (products, services, hours, specials, upcoming events, etc.)

Create a scavenger hunt to entice people to visit small businesses this week.

Have a photo contest to get people to photograph an item from each letter of the alphabet from your small businesses.

Post to social media for the entire month something wonderful about small businesses in your district. You could use trivia, pictures of food, etc.

Create an infographic of interesting facts about your district, focusing on small businesses. You could include details on industry breakdown, an estimate of how many visitors come to your area to visit your businesses, how much money stays in your area because of shopping small, and other interesting tidbits.

Write a “love letter” or thank you to small businesses for the role they play in the community. Extra points if you hand-deliver it with candy. You can also post it to your social media channels.

Interview small business owners and share the video on your website or social media channels.

Small business is the backbone of our economy. While this is a great week to show them how important they are, the other 51 aren’t bad either.
